Tour the Gettysburg battlefield > North • Central • South • E. Cavalry Field
As Hancock Avenue passes the State of Pennsylvania monument (the largest on the battlefield) it intersects with Humphreys and Pleasonton Avenues. Hancock Avenue is one way northbound, but Pleasonton Avenue is two lane traffic, and is a useful route to escape or return to the one-way park roads if needed. The National Park Auto Tour follows Hancock Avenue north.
While this is a busy and often crowded area there is usually ample parking. And in addition to the sweeping view from the observation platform on top of the Pennsylvania monument there are public restrooms on Humphreys Avenue.
