Union monuments at Gettysburg > Wisconsin Monuments
Wisconsin sent 91,000 men to the Union Army during the Civil War. Most fought in the Western Theater. Wisconsin was represented at the Battle of Gettysburg by over 2,100 men. These were organized into six infantry regiments and a company of sharpshooters that was part of Berdan’s 1st United States Sharpshooter Regiment. Each of these units is represented by a monument on the battlefield. Over 800 men from Wisconsin became casualties during the battle. (see the States at Gettysburg)
