Union monuments at Gettysburg > Indiana Monuments
Indiana sent over 125,000 men to the Union Army in the Civil War, but most served in the Western Theater. Around 2,200 Hoosiers fought at the Battle of Gettysburg in five infantry and parts of of two cavalry regiments. About 550 – 27% – became casualties (see the States at Gettysburg). There are six Indiana regimental monuments, as well as a State of Indiana monument.
