Tour the Gettysburg battlefield > NorthCentralSouthE. Cavalry Field

Howard Avenue is just north of Gettysburg, roughly following the line of two divisions of the Union 11th Corps on July 1st, 1863, and the scene of desperate fighting as they were overwhelmed and driven back through town by the Confederate 2nd Corps. Several of the units honored here have a second monument south of town on Cemetery Hill where they reformed and continued the fight on July 2nd and 3rd.
