Highest point on Little Round Top

The highest point on Little Round Top – 650 feet above sea level – is at the monument to Hazlett’s Battery (5th United States Artillery, Battery D). On the right is the monument to the 91st Pennsylvania, who came into line to the right of O’Rorke’s 140th New York, whose monument is further down the hill obscured by trees. In the distance is the “castle” of the 44th New York, which was facing south (away from the camera) as part of Vincent’s line. At the very right of the photo near the bottom and part way down the slope of the hill is the monument to the 16th Michigan, the right flank of Vincent’s line.
