Seminary Ridge on the Gettysburg battlefield

This photo was taken from just across the highway from General Buford’s monument on Chambersburg Pike (US 30), facing east towards the west side of tree-lined Seminary Ridge. The steeple above the trees is not the famous Seminary cupola used as an observation post by both sides during the battle, but was built after the war. The cupola is hidden by trees farther to the right. Reynolds Avenue with some of its monuments is in the middle distance and the McPherson barn is just out of frame to the right of the photo.
