Tour the Gettysburg battlefield > NorthCentralSouthE. Cavalry Field

Culp’s Hill is southeast of the town of Gettysburg. It rises just north of Spangler’s Spring, dips to a low saddle, then continues north to a tall summit. Slocum Avenue goes up and over the center of the lower hill, while Geary Avenue loops west to skirt its western side before rejoining Slocum Avenue. Both are one way heading north, so cars must choose one or the other when leaving the Spangler’s Spring area. Culp’s Hill is on the National Park Auto Tour.

Most of the monuments belong to Union 12th Corps units that fought here on July 2nd and 3rd, but the area includes the first Confederate monument on the battlefield, that of the 2nd Maryland Infantry.
