Little Round Top was one of the keys to the Union line at Gettysburg. The fight to hold the second tallest elevation on the Gettysburg battlefield was one of the climactic moments of Longstreet’s attack on July 2nd. Today Little Round Top is one of the most visited places in the park, with a paved road to within a few yards of the summit. Beautiful views reach as far west as South Mountain, and monuments cover the summit and slopes of the hill.
